Don’t Know, But is a site dedicated to discussing modesty in thinking and public dialog, integrity and openness.
The name of the site is predicated on the value of being able to say I don’t know, but … as a way to be open, to enable rather than close off dialog and to draw more people into the ownership of solutions. It is so sad that the ability to say this has gone out of usage.
Perhaps the most valuable use of the phrase is ‘I don’t know, but I currently believe that …’. This puts so many things clearly into the domain of personal view and also allows for the possibility of change in these beliefs: both very healthy perpectives to take.
